The sad thing is that the more artists I know (according to my last.fm profile: 3+ years of searching and listening to 1000+ bands), the less new pearls I'm discovering. And yes, I can't listen to same old ones - I'm addicted to diversity and new experience.
I think everyone finds in music something different (talking about listening, not creating).
For someone it might be just fun, relax, catchy melody while for others it can be even a way of life.
For me music = energy.
Personally, I chill best at silence so I don't need calm music and it's a fair cop: 10-min tracks of experimental progressive avangarde and virtuosity simply bore me.
Tough, mindless slaughtering too, that's why I'm tired by some kinds of extreme metal, grindcore, etc.
I pay attention to lyrics, but they aren't most important for me.
What counts is the pounding beat of rock 'n' roll :] power (not to be mistaken for power metal, bleh), speed, finesse, emotions, some kind of dramatism.
Probably my taste is explainable by my life style - I wear headphones mostly while pumping the iron or riding a bike.

ReplyDeleteMuszę najpierw ogarnąć te stare zespoły które zaczęły heavy metal, bo nowe zespoły chyba polubiły kopiowanie riffów xD - takie wrażenie ze słuchania. Aczkolwiek nadal z wytęsknieniem czekam na produkujący się właśnie nowy album Nightwish, kolejny Rhapsody, częściowo nagrany już Megadeth i z bólami tworzony Wintersun...
