Eating sweets in order to calm yourself is a vocious circle. Not even they don't lower the stress, but they lead to a greater stress and other negative feelings. Why?
While eating a big amount of sweets in stress, everyone, even abstinents, produce their own alcohol in cycle:
stress > carbohydrates > yeasts. Yeasts produce cortisol, called a hormone of stress. Hey, isn't it that shit that we wanted to get rid of? But the worst thing is alcohol. Consequences are especially negative for young. They affect the most important part of the brain, frontal lobe - the centre of coordination.
Alcohol brakes development and functioning of nervous system, what leads to worse memorizing, concentration, problems in behaviour, anxiety, irritation, guilt feelings, etc, etc. and... greater apetite for sweets.
How to hold it all back? Cut back eating sweets, simple. There are enough carbohydrates in fruits.
Drinking appropriate amount of water (2l daily) lowers sweet hunger too. And do some sports, porch monkeys! ;)
